The Southwest Colorado Bar Association is hosting Law in the Trenches on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in-person at the Durango Public Library and on Zoom. COVID-19 Protocols
Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in La Plata County, the high transmissibility of the COVID-19 Delta variant, and the indoor setting of this event, the SWCBA Board has implemented COVID-19 protocols in an effort to keep our community safe. We respectfully request your compliance with the protocols listed below. If you are unable or unwilling to comply with these requirements, we kindly ask that you attend this event over Zoom.
1) Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required for in-person attendance at this event. Fully vaccinated means 2 weeks removed from the second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or 2 weeks removed from 1 doze of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
2) Proof of full vaccination must be provided either prior to the event or at the start of the event prior to entry. You may provide proof of full vaccination before the meeting by sending your proof to swcobar@gmail.com. Acceptable forms of proof are:
a. Original COVID-19 vaccination card.
b. Photo of original COVID-19 vaccination card.
c. Photo of myColorado app vaccination record.
d. Photo of Colorado Immunization System vaccine record with name visible.
3) Masks are required for all in-person attendees. Masks may be removed briefly in the following circumstances:
a. Presenters when speaking.
b. Attendees when asking a question of the presenter.
c. Attendees when eating or drinking.

We will be hosting the Colorado Bar Association President, Joi Kush, and we will have a CLE presentation from Judge Bernard. This will be a hybrid meeting with both in-person and Zoom attendance. Brian Miller, 6th Judicial District Diversion Coordinator will present. Mr. Miller’s presentation will focus on the 6th Judicial District Mental Health Diversion Program (MHDP). The 6th MHDP is one of four pilot programs statewide authorized to divert individuals with mental health concerns and low-level offenses into community mental health treatment. The presentation will address goals and objectives of MHDP, MHDP’s target population, program funding, and generally how the program works in the 6th Judicial District.
